On the Lighter Side: Et Fille Rosè

Posted on: May 21st, 2021

In 2003, Jessica Mozeico and her father founded the Et Fille winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.  After her father’s passing during a harvest accident in 2017, Jessica continued to run the business.

Today, in a place many regard as “Pinot Heaven”, Jessica and crew are working tirelessly on the slopes of their gently rolling vineyards to bring us some exceptional renditions of Pinot Noir. Read on and discover more about one of their smallest lot releases, the 2020 Et Fille Rosè.

Enjoying this Bottle - Shows the Wine’s True Color

First, realize that Oregon’s Williamite Valley pinot noir’s quality easily moves into in that well-known lighter rendition, namely Rosè of Pinot Noir.  By exposing this varietal to a splash of skin contact during fermentation, Jessica has created a lighter version of the varietal in a casual wine.  Enjoy this spring and summer as a perfect easy-drinking refreshment on warm days out on the patio.

Featuring a bouquet like a fresh floral garden followed by a relatively soft body with enough acidity to pair with a wide variety of appetizers, this wine is the perfect lead-in for whatever you may choose to start the meal.  But note that the pinot noir backbone is especially good at working with earthy starters like stuffed mushrooms or shiitake mushroom crisps.  These combos will work nicely, especially when combined with light seafood appetizers.

Please note that this wine is distributed right here in Arizona!  Either of these bottle shops can set you up:  The Hidden Track Bottle Shop in central Phoenix or the Montecito Bottle Shop at 7th Ave and Montecito.

Stores like AJs, will also be able to order some from a local distributor who will keep it cool during handling.  Online sources may also be able to ship safely but make note of their being able to use refrigerated trucks over the next 5-6 months.

Serve it after about an hour in the fridge (45-50 degrees).  Its floral bouquet will open-up as it warms and you will also note that it retains its softness, even close to room temperature.

With offerings like this available, Rosè will surely continue its popularity streak.  Cheers!
